Want to learn to spin, but need more time & guidance to learn it? Then choose this spinning course! The goal of the spinning course is to spin your own yarn, from which you can really make something! Duration lessons 3,5/4 hours.
This wool spinning course is divided into two 3,5/4-hour sessions and we’re going to use wool from the sheep owned by Geraldine, the owner of La Boutique Peridot! So it’ll be extra fun to have some hand-spun yarn from them later on!
What do you get with this Wool Spinning Course (13.00 – 16.30)
- In this course, Kitty will tell you more about wool as an ancient craft.
- She’ll show you two ways to card wool, one of which you’ll use for your own wool.
- You’ll learn how to use the spinning wheel & using the pedal, and eventually we’ll try this out in combination with your hands and the wool.
- She’ll show you how to ply wool in the last lesson, and you’ll use this technique to create your own hand-spun skein.
- Coffe and tea are included.
This course includes a 2-week spinning wheel rental, wool, and other materials you’ll need.
It takes a lot of practice, so it won’t be easy at first, but Kitty will guide you well so you can continue working at home. You’ll receive a spinning wheel, wool, and more information to practice at home. Then we’ll move on to the next lesson. At the end of the final lesson, you’ll go home with your own hand-spun wool!
