Want to learn to spin, but need more time & guidance to learn it? Then choose this spinning course! The goal of the spinning course is to spin your own yarn, from which you can really make something! Duration lesson 2,5 hours.
This wool spinning course is divided into two half-day sessions of 2,5 hours each. Together with me, you choose two dates that are approximately 1.5 weeks apart, so that you have enough time to practice at home for about 15 minutes a day.
- In this course I’ll tell you more about wool as an ancient craft.
- I am going to show you how to card wool in 2 ways, 1 of which you will use for your own wool.
- You will learn how the pedaling goes with the spinning wheel and finally we are going to try it in combination with your hands and the wool (now you are spinning!).
- I will show you how wool plying works and you are going to use this technique for your own hand-spun skein.
- You will be provided with a spinning wheel if you do not have one of your own.
It will take a lot of practice so it won’t be easy at first, but I’m going to guide you well so you can continue working at home. You will get a spinning wheel, wool and more information from me to practice at home. Then we are going to continue the next lesson. At the end of the last spinning lesson you will go home with your own handspun wool!
Private workshops will only be given on Tuesdays or Thursdays, but if you are unable to attend on these days, please let me know and we will find a solution together.
